2.1 Teaching Methods

Based on observation, teaching methods in class used lecture by teacher and discussion methods. The variety of teaching that using by the teacher is depend on the topics you are going to teach. Almost all of the teachers use expository for teaching method. The teacher also arranged the students to several groups for discussion. In other subject, they usually use the presentation or with the use of power point presentations, video presentations, image presentations, and others. The teachers also telling jokes and make the situation of the class not so serious and make them feel comfortable to learn the materials.Before do the activities, the teachers do generalization to make sure the students comprehension of the topics.

2.2 Learning Materials and Innovation

The school uses teaching materials and innovation from the student’s book, but some of subjects are given by the teacher when it taught. The students also can get the materials from the other literature and source.

For the innovation of learning, the teacher gives some games in teaching for fun, it can make the students don’t feel bored in the class. Sometimes, the teacher also adds quiz base games for managing teaching time more properly.

2.3 Sources of Learning and Technology

Source of learning are using teacher’s book and student’s book. The technology that used on the teaching is not only slide but also videos, animation. The teacher uses laptop and Television at the center in front of the class. The students can’t often go to the library because they have very tight schedule.

2.4 Authentic Assessment

Authentic assessment that used by the teacher is based on the student task during the learning session, student activeness on the class, and also student mid semester evaluation result, and also by using the teacher quiz.

Six ways to use authentic assessment math in the classroom based on my observation are performance assessment, short investigations, open-response questions, self-assessment, multiple-choice questions, and portfolio. And sometimes teacher gave assignment to students for better understood.

Assessment get from participate when teacher explain and ask, group activity and

quiz in the last lesson. Teacher would give plus point to students who active in class, cooperative in group activity. And teacher assessment from result quiz that given them.
