Observation on Teachers in the Classroom

Observation on Teachers in the Classroom
1. Planning for Teaching

The teacher should make the lesson plan manually before teaching. The lesson plan based on the Curriculum they have. Teacher can’t teach the class if she doesn’t have the lesson plan.

2.    Preparing Lessons and Materials

The base for the teacher to prepare lessons and materials in teaching is the textbook. Sometimes, the teacher also made the slides of the topics. The teacher prepared guide question about material to ask the students during the discussion. The teacher also prapared activities, assessment from the book, and summary for evaluation.

3.   Teaching in Class

The teacher used scientific learning as the learning approach. The teacher used lecture method and used such as discussions, guided discovery, question and answer. The teacher also open to the students if they don’t understand and want to have an explanation more about the topics. Sometimes the teacher tells a joke to make  the students don’t feel pressure and bored to learn math.

4.   Measurement and Evaluation

At the end of the topic, the teacher usually evaluate the students by using question and answer method in teaching.
At the end of the class, the teacher gave assignments that will be submitted on the next meeting.
At the end of the chapter, the teacher gave the long quiz for students evaluation.

5.    Impression to The Teacher Performance

By doing the observation, it taught me so much and I got so many ideas in teaching about what will I do on my teaching practice. I also learnt how to make lesson plan, how to teach students well, how to speak in front of the class, how to appreciate the students, how to treat students well, and so many others.

In my teaching practice, I will make the students more active in class. I choose to use students-center kind of communication to make the students construct the idea and understood by discussing with their friends and not depend on the teacher’s slide presentation
